Here's all the movie clips and messages from Our House this weekend...
This brilliant clip from Monty Python's Life of Brian is a perfect example of how imagination and reality can become fused...which is where our word con-fused comes from! It's also easy to see the common problem with humanity: That we label anyone who doesn't conform to our beliefs as a heretic who should be persecuted.
"The problem with humanity is not that we are God rejecters, but that we are God creators."
This problem is what cause the 13th century mystic, Meister Eckhart, to declare "God, rid me of god!"
"God created man in his image and man has returned the favour."
In modern times, many believe that they have no god, but gods are as present in society as ever and we are as prone as ever to behave in Brian-esque ways, convinced of our dogmatic beliefs, re-enforced in our echo-chambers in which we only listen to that which confirms what we already believe.
This clip from The Croods demonstrated how our lives can become ruled by a belief that there's an unseen force that must be appeased.
